Hello Kangoonauten,
Sorry, my German isn't very good, so i'll talk to you in English. I'have got a question. Since a few months I'm the happy owner of a kangoo (1.4 RN, 1999). It's a great car, but it uses a lot of petrol. 1 liter on 10 km, 1 on 9: that's a lot! What's your experience? Maarten

Hello Maarten,

we got a 1,4 RT from 1999, and during "normal" usage, it consumes less than 8l on 100km. Only if it is used for short trips only, 10l /100km are reached.

I think, 7-8l is the mean consumption for most of the "Kangoonauts" with this engine, but some people already mentioned abnormal values.

At the moment, I can't remember what can be done to improve that.

Frank

Hi Maarten!
We have also got an 1.4 RT from '99, and 7-8 liters/100 km is what we normaly need; driving in the city only can cause consumptions up to 10l/100Km.

Hi Maarten!

My Kangoo 1.4 Automatik ( 2001 ) needed during the first 45.000 km 9, 5 - 11 liters!
Now with over 50.000 km 8, 1 - 8, 5 liters.
Drive carefully and buy the best oil!

Hi Maarten,

I guess it depends on your driving-style, on the routes and the environment. If you live in a hillside, you'll sure need more petrol than on flat areas, if you only drive within the city, it will take more than driving mostly on country lanes. After all, the faster you go, the more you've got to pay for the "thirst" of your car.
I'm driving the 1.4 Liter-machine with automatic gear and the car needs around
7,0 Liter/100km - I often get even below. Recalling the high structure of the Kangoo and the automatic gear-shifting I believe it's reasonable, if not a quite good demand.
